Credit check and scoring when selecting Klarna as the payment

If you have opted for Klarna's payment services, Klarna invoicing and Klarna as a payment option, you have consented that we require for the settlement of the invoice purchase an identity and credit check. The following personal data such as full name, address, date of birth, gender, email address, IP address, telephone number and the information necessary for the settlement of the invoice related to the order (number of articles, article number, invoice amount and tax as a percentage), are collected and transmitted to Klarna. The collection of this data is so that Klarna can create an invoice for the settlement of your purchase to the invoicing of your choice and can carry out identity and credit checks. Here Klarna, according to the Federal Data Protection Act has a legitimate interest in the transmission of the personal data of the buyer and requires it to obtain information with credit reporting agencies for the purpose of identity and credit checks. In Germany, this can be the following credit reporting agencies:

  • Schufa Holding AG, Kormoranweg 5, 65203 Wiesbaden
  • Bürgel Wirtschaftsinformationen GmbH & Co. KG, Postfach 5001 66, 22701 Hamburg
  • Creditreform Bremen Seddig KG, Contrescarpe 17, 28203 Bremen
  • infoscore Consumer Data GmbH, Rheinstraße 99, 76532 Baden-Baden

As part of the decision on the establishment, and apart from implementation or termination of the contractual relationship, Klarna collects and processes an address check and information on the previous payment behaviour of the buyer, and calculates probability values based on this behaviour for future transactions. The calculation Klarna uses to obtain these scores is based on a scientifically recognized mathematical statistical method. Klarna is given, among other things, use of your address data. If after the calculation credit is not given, Klarna will inform you immediately.
